About Issai Teach

Welcome to Issai Teach! My name is Issai, and I am the founder and sole teacher of this very small online teaching business. With a background in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, and over six years of teaching experience, I am passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals and develop a love for language learning.

My Services

I offer a variety of educational services designed to meet the diverse needs of my students:

  • 1:1 and Group Classes: Whether you prefer personalised one-on-one sessions or thrive in a collaborative group setting, I have the right class for you.

  • Language Instruction: I teach French, English as a Second Language (ESL), and Mauritian Creole.

  • English Language Skills: I can help you enhance your reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in English.

  • French GCSE and A Level exam prep: I offer group classes and 1:1 classes for students preparing for the French GCSE or A Level exams in the UK. These include revision sessions and courses and classes for home educated students.

  • Entrance Exam Preparation: I provide comprehensive prep courses for 7+, 11+, 13+, and other entrance exams.

  • Resource Provision: I create and offer high-quality, free resources for French GCSE, 11+, English, and Mauritian Creole students.

I cater to learners aged 7 and above, including adults, ensuring that each student receives tailored support to achieve their educational goals.

 About Me

I completed my undergraduate studies in Linguistics and French, and my postgraduate studies in Applied Linguistics at Birkbeck College, UoL. I completed a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) at The Institute of Education, UCL. Additionally, I have a 120-hour TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate. I taught in school for 2 years and taught school classes online during online learning in 2019 and 2020. I have been teaching group classes and 1:1 classes online for 4 years. My academic background, hands-on teaching experience and enthusiasm for the subjects I teach equip me with the tools to deliver high-quality education tailored to each student's needs.

My Philosophy

I believe that language learning is a lifelong journey and that my students learn best in a positive and nurturing environment that keeps them challenged and on their toes. My goal is to inspire a love of learning in my students and provide them with the skills they need to succeed in their academic endeavours and beyond. I am committed to fostering an inclusive and engaging environment where every student can thrive.

On a personal note, I love dogs - small and big. I own two small chihuahuas who love to make an appearance in class when they can. I love to cool cook and to learn about other cultures through travel, food, music and comedy.
